About Josh

Josh can best be described as passionate. He loves what he does whether it’s at work or at play and if you’ve spent any time with him in either environment you will agree.
Josh moved to Victoria in 1995 and knew he had found his place in the world. He remembers the moment he knew he had to live here. It was the Easter long weekend and he was out on the breakwater. The wind was howling and the spray from the waves was crashing high over the breakwater. The ocean and the outdoors were calling.

Family

Much of Josh's immediate family lives on the Island. His Grandmother and Uncle and family live in Victoria and his Mother and Step Father are organic farmers in the Cowichan Valley where they live and work on Glen Eden Farm. “They produce honey and garden vegetables that they sell at the Duncan Farmers Market and raise the most delicious free range chickens which I have enjoyed at many a Family dinner.”

When Josh isn’t helping people make their real estate transitions as smooth and painless as possible he can usually be found outside enjoying what the island has to offer.

Professional Background

Joshua's entire career has been in customer service. He spent his early years working in, and running restaurants. “That experience taught me the value of relationship building; my entire business philosophy is now built on customer service.” Using his extensive background of sales and marketing plus an interest in, and knowledge of photography Joshua was able turn the fortunes of an ailing camera store into a highly successful venture. “I built a loyal clientele by turning the store into a neighborhood photography resource centre, service and information came first…the sale second. The turnaround was quite dramatic.”

This kind of innovative thinking has made Joshua an enthusiastic real estate professional with successful sales and marketing background, a dedication to customer service, and an extensive knowledge of the Victoria market. “Whether you are a long time resident or looking to move here because you love the snow as much as I do, I would love to help you make yourself a home here.”

Josh got his Real Estate License in a fraction of the time it generally takes to complete the course. 8 days versus the normal 6+ months, and graduated from the program with 91%. This level of excellence has earned him the privilege of knowing the majority of his business comes from 2 places, repeat clients, and referrals.

Down Time

OctopusJosh is an avid SCUBA diver, and although his first diving experience was in Indonesia when he was 14, he got licensed here in Victoria in June 1997. He carries his Advanced and Rescue PADI certifications and is always happy to hit the water.

In the summer of 2009 Josh discovered rock climbing and can often be found at either Mt. Wells, or a new rock in town he set up for his partner Andrea called Adventure Seekers’ Rock.

In the summer of 2008 Josh completed the 75 km West Coast Trail and it was a profound experience for him. “I hiked the trail alone and spent a lot of time in my head. It’s not hard to lose balance in your life, especially with a career like Real Estate. I love Real Estate but realized at that point that was all I was doing.”  Josh now shares his time between Real Estate and play, as much as he can anyway.

Josh’s other passion include sailing, surfing, camping, and exploring the island, much of which he does as an organizer for Adventure Seekers.

Along with adventure goes travel. Josh loves to travel, having been to Indonesia, Thailand, backpacked through Europe (which included working in Greece for a summer) traveled across Canada from coast to coast by bus, much of the states, and Mexico. He runs an online social networking group called World Travelers where he shares his passion for travel with like minded people. Recently Josh obtained his Travel Agent’s License and runs an online Travel Agency where he helps share his passion for the world with others.
